- ROM: Once data has been written onto
a ROM chip, it cannot be removed
and can only be read. Unlike
main memory (RAM), ROM
retains its contents even when
the computer is turned off.
- RAM: is a hardware device that allows information to be stored and
retrieved on a computer but requires power to keep the data
accessible; if power is lost all data contained in memory lost.
