All children between the ages of 7-16 must attend school, school is compulsory from the age of 7
Education is compulsory and free of charge
1. the curriculum i designed around four factors: 1. Objectives, 2. Subject Matter & Content, 3. Learning Experiences, 4. Evaluation procedures.
Goals are set for each student that have to be met
all children are entitled to free public pre-schooling
1. All children are guaranteed a place in a one-year förskoleklass (‘pre-school year’) starting in the fall term of the year they turn six until they start compulsory schooling. This year is designed to stimulate each child’s development and learning, and provide a platform for their future schooling this is non compulsory
There are nine compulsory years of schooling, after which students can attend an upper secondary school that is either geared towards further study or learning a trade.
Grades are given in years 6, 7, 8 and 9. The grading scale has six levels A, B, C, D, E and F. AE covers pass results, and F Is The resulting non-pass
the academic year lasts from august until june
most preschools are open from 6.30am to 6.30pm

the government has invested in providing preschool for children during nights weekends and holidays
