- Julian is a person who judges quickly without getting to know the person. His mom is
crazy about him, so she does everything to make Julian happy.
- Julian is a very popular boy at Beecher-Prep, so anything that he says
people always agree with him.
- Auggie
- Auggie was born with a disformed face.
- Auggie just wantes to be a regular kid and wants
friends that accept him.
- Conflict:
- Julian doesn't like Auggie and bullies him and calls him names.
- Julian is bothered by Auggie's physical appearence.

- Christopher
- Christopher has always been friends with Auggie, but after
moving away, they have kind of grown apart.
- Christopher is very disorganized and forgetful. He sometimes forgets his
things for school.
- Conflict:
- Something happens to Christopher's mom that makes him think more
about being kind to people.
- Auggie
- Auggie and Christopher were best friends before Christopher
moved away.
- Auggie is going to be going to a new school called
Beecher-Prep after being homeschooled all his life.
- Before Auggie was taken home from the hospital he had to have many surgeries to allow
him to swallow and breathe.

- Charlotte
- LOVES dancing. She, Ximena, and Summer got picked to do a dance in Carnegie Hall.
- Charlotte is picked to be Auggie's welcome buddy.
- Summer
- Summer loves dancing. When people tried out for the part in the dance
nobody thought that she would get the part but she did end up getting
it and doing very well.
- Summer is friends with Auggie. She completely ignores the fact that he looks different.
- Ximena
- Ximena loves dancing too! She is also picked to be in the big dance.
She is said to be the best dancer in the grade.
- Ximena is a very popular girl. At the beginning of the book Ximena is
snotty, but when she realizes how nice that Summer and Charlotte are
they become very good friends.
- Conflict:
- The big dance in
Carnegie Hall is coming up
and the 3 girls have to
rehearse a lot.
