  1. We can use it
    1. To express the idea that an action started and finished at a specific time in the past
      1. grammatical rules
        1. To form the past simple with regular verbs, we use the infinitive and add the termination "-ed". The form is the same for all persons (I, you, I, she, it, we, they).
          1. For verbs ending in an "e", we only add "-d".
            1. If the verb ends in a short vowel and a consonant (except "and" or "w"), bend the final consonant.
              1. With verbs ending in a consonant and a "and", changes the "and" with an "i".
