Who would be the audience for your media product?

Our film genre: Coming of age
1. Coming of age films are usually targeted at a teenage audience as they can relate to the journey's characters are experiencing. The films however, could feature explicit content that could make the rating rise over 18.
2. This genre could also be split into two sections, a younger audience and an older audience. This also gives the genre a variety of viewers.
Our main target audience would be an audience who can relate to the topic of our film and could understand what the protagonist is going through. On the other hand, I think that our film could be directed towards many audiences but 'coming of age' viewers would take to it best.
The narrative is mainly female in our film and although this is the case, we would market the film to both sexes to create a fair viewing. By having characters that are both male and female, it means our piece will appeal to both sexes, therefore creating a wider audience spread.
As this genre focuses on the growth of the protagonist and their journey, I think that personal growth and their internal/external change is extremely important. This is why we decided to include every convention of the genre in our piece. I think that this enhanced our film and made the narrative strong.
