Spanish: Different tenses and AR, ER, IR endings

Present Tense
1. Regular Verb Endings
  1. AR Verbs
    1. Yo - o
    2. Tu - as
    3. El / Ella - a
    4. Nosotros/as - amos
    5. Vosotros/as - áis
    6. Ellos/Ellas - an
    7. Examples: Cant-o, Cant-as, Cant-a, Cant-amos, Cant-ais, Cant-an
  2. ER Verbs
    1. Yo - o
    2. Tu - es
    3. El/Ella - e
    4. Nosotros/as - emos
    5. Vosotros/as - éis
    6. Ellos/ Ellas - en
    7. Examples: Beb-o, Beb-es, Beb-e, Beb-emos, Beb-eis, Beb-en
  3. TIPS: for ER and IR verbs - for regular endings - they both follow a similar pattern for all of the persons - EXCEPT NOSOTROS AND VOSOTROS
  4. IR Verbs
    1. Yo - o
    2. Tu - es
    3. El/Ella - e
    4. Nosotros/as - imos
    5. Vosotros/as - ís
    6. Ellos/Ellas - en
    7. Examples: Viv-o, Viv-es, Viv-e, Viv-imos, Viv-is, Viv-en
Past tenses
1. Preterite Tense
  1. AR Endings
    1. Yo - é
    2. Tu - aste
    3. El/Ella - ó
    4. Nosotros/as - amos
    5. Vosotros/as - asteis
    6. ellos - aron
  2. Irregular Preterite Forms
    1. Ser (to be)
      1. Yo - fui
      2. Tu -Fuiste
      3. El/Ella - fue
      4. Nosotros/as - Fuimos
      5. Vosotros/as - Fuisteis
      6. Ellos /ellas - Fueron
      7. These endings are also the same for ir (to Go)
    2. TIP: The following irregular preterite forms are the some of the most common.
    3. Dar ( to give)
      1. Yo - di
      2. Tu - diste
      3. El/Ella - Dio
      4. Nosotros - Dimos
      5. Vosotros - disteis
      6. Ellos/ellas -dieron
    4. Ver (to see)
      1. Yo - Vi
      2. Tu - Viste
      3. El/Ella - Vio
      4. Nosotros - Vimos
      5. Vosotros - Visteis
      6. Ellos/Ellas - Vieron
      7. Ver and Dar have similar conjugations! For example Visteis and Disteis (Vosotros)
  3. ER and IR endings
    1. Yo - í
    2. Tu- iste
    3. El/Ella - ió
    4. Nosotros/as - imos
    5. Vosotros/as - isteis
    6. ellos - ieran
  4. TIP: For the preterite tense ER and IR verbs have the same endings! all the way through. Unlike the present tense.
2. Imperfect Tense
  1. AR Verbs
    1. Yo - aba
    2. Tu- abas
    3. El/Ella - aba
    4. Nosotros - ábamos
    5. Vosotros - abais
    6. Ellos/Ellas - aban
  2. ER and IR Verbs
    1. Yo - ía
    2. Tu - ías
    3. El/Ella - ía
    4. Nosotros - íamos
    5. Vosotros - íais
    6. Ellos/Ellas - ían
  3. TIP: For ER and IR verbs in the imperfect tense. These follow the same patten! But there is also an irregular imperfect tense aswell! Be warned these are not like the regular verb endings
  4. Irregular imperfect
    1. ir (to go)
      1. Yo - iba
      2. Tu - ibas
      3. El/Ella - iba
      4. Nosotros - íbamos
      5. Vosotros - ibais
      6. Ellos/Ellas - iban
    2. ser (to be)
      1. Yo - era
      2. Tu - eras
      3. El/Ella - era
      4. Nosotros - éramos
      5. Vosotros - erais
      6. Ellos/Ellas - eran
    3. Ver (to see)
      1. Yo- Veía
      2. Tu - Veías
      3. El/Ella - Veía
      4. Nosotros - Veíamos
      5. Vosotros - Veíais
      6. Ellos/Ellas - Veían
    4. These Irregular infinitive's are also the same ones for the irregular preterite! Make sure you learn these important ones.
Future Tenses
1. Informal future tense
There are a lot more things in spanish (reflexive verbs, Stem changing verbs etc) that also fall into these categories!!
