Cell phone Compact and portable telephone you can carry around. A cellphone uses radio stations to pass on signals, thus a cellphone is a wireless communication device. Used for direct or indirect communication over a telecommunication system.   Key components of a cellular network (CBBRMVH=7) Cellphone, base station, base transceiver station, radio network controller, mobile switching centre, visitor location register, home location register. CP - Mobile station BS - supporting structure holding equipment BTS - handle and process cellphone communication between local and wireless networks RNC - manage BTS and connected to BTS via landline  MSC - Holds large amount of evidence, calls processed here VLC - data of subscribers in its location  HLR - individual subscriber data, including : ID, Billing, oces, location and supplemental features.    MSC Functions Liaise, Supervise, Authorise, Control Liaise between cellphone system and telephone system Supervise and control mobile communication Authorise use of system Control and provides accounts and system users.    Automatic Registration  Even if handset does not make a call, it  automatically triggers the cell tower when a cellphone is switched on and moved from one location to another. It is a continuous process, and a constant interaction.
