Writing a literature review in your field is one of the most helpful things you’ll learn to do at university but it can be tricky to write a good one. When you write a literature review, you gather, gain, and synthesise ideas within your field of study.But how do you identify the themes?
Why are you writing a literature review for this unit now?Firstly, identifying some of the key themes and issues that come up across of these areas of will help you to engage critically with the content of the unit.Secondly, literature reviews can be hard to grasp. So we have put it in early so that you can meet the first formative assessment deadline in January and find out if you're on the right track! So, what's so hard about a literature review?
First, you read an article and take notes. We recommend that you as you read you pay attention to four things: main ideas;definitions of terms;examples (or evidence) for the main ideas; statements or ideas with which you disagree (or “arguable statements”).
