Present perfect is used to talk about a past action or situation which started at some time in the past.

We use the present simple to talk about facts or things which are generally true.

The present continues it is not useful about situations in progress.

We often use present simple with adverbs of frequency (once a week, on Fridays, often, etc.)

We use the present perfect continuous to talk about an action or situation that was in progress in the recent past.

We do not use the Present Perfect Simple and Continuous with since and for.

We've been friends since we were twelve years old. Means that they are no longer friends.

I always have a shower in the morning. Means that everyday you take showers in the morning.

Michael can't come with us because he hasn't renewed his passport. Means that in the past, he did not renew his passport, therefore he will not go (to Paris.)

She never talks to strangers. Means that she accept strangers' company.
