| Destructive Plate Margins | -When two plates are moving towards eachother. -Where an oceanic plate meets a continental plate, the denser oceanic plate is forced down into the mantle. This often creates volcanoes and ocean trenches. -Where two continental plates meet, the plates smash together but no crust is destroyed. |
| Constructive Margins | -When two plates are moving away from each other. -Magma (molten rock) rises from the mantle to fill the gap and cools. Creating a new crust. |
| Conservative Margins | -When two plates are moving sideways past eachother, or are moving the same direction but in different speeds. Crust isn't created or destroyed |
