Frage Antworten
Who wrote "Who so list to hount I knowe where is an hynde"? Sir Thomas Wyatt
"Who so list to hount I knowe where is an hynde" The first line of the sonnet, it establishes the hunting metaphor. The noun "hynde" is an animal to hunt, a metaphor for a woman. The verb "hount" means to stalk, or to pursue, in this case a woman.
"Sithens in a nett I seke to hold the wynde." A metaphor for the impossible, the metaphor literally means trying to catch the wind in a net, which isn't impossible as the wind will just go straight through. The metaphor suggests it will be impossible for the man to get with the woman, because this woman is Henry VIII's wife.
Who is the subject of the poem, and why does this mean that it is impossible for Wyatt to be with her? Anne-Boleyn. She was Henry VIII's second wife.. Henry VIII was the monarch so obviously he would not have been able to get with the King's wife; if he was caught he would most likely be executed,
What is the form of this poem? An Italian Sonnet
