Frage Antworten
What is conservation? - Management of natural resources - Natural resources that can still be used, without them running out (social, economical and ethical)
Examples of social, economical and ethical factors - Social = Attractions and activates - Economical = Drugs / food / clothes - Ethical = Morals / human activity
What's preservation? - Keeping ecosystems the same, whilst protecting them -Nothing is removed from it
What's Sustainability? - Ensure resources that are taken today, but without reducing the ability for people in the future for their needs
Ways of sustainability on land - Small patches cut down - Coppicing (Cutting trees in a way to let them grow back) - Sticks for support and tubes to stop bugs (herbivory) - Native species, rather than non-native - Not planted close together; avoiding competition
Ways of sustainability on sea (overfishing) - Mesh size of nets - International agreements (Common fisheries policy (in EU)) - Limited catch of species of fish because of fishing quotes; from scientific study (population size)
Examples of human activities on ecosystems - Humans introduced non-native animals, killing the native ones (i.e. grey squirrel) - Non native plants compete with native plant species
How do we control the impacts of humans introducing non-native species Eradication programs can be introduced / public follow set of rules
Examples of places affected by human activity - The Galapagos islands - Antarctica - Lake district / Snowdonia national parks
What is meant by a dynamic process? Something that is constantly changing (i.e. an ecosystem)
