Frage Antworten
What three features make an effective transport system? - A fluid to transport stuff eg: oxygen (blood) - A pump to create pressure to push the fluid around the body (heart) - An exchange surface to enable O2 or other stuff to enter and leave the blood
In what two ways can efficiency be improved? - Tubes/vessels to carry blood - Two circuts, one to pick up O2 and one to take it to tissue
What is a closed system? Where blood is enclosed in vessels
What is an open circulatory system? Give an example of an animal that has an open circulatory system Blood isn't contained in vessels but fill cavities Insects
How do insects transport blood around their bodies? The heart pumps blood into haemocoel (blood space)
How does oxygen get around insects bodies? They have a system of tubes called trachea with openings called spiracles
