This is because she now has enough money to buy new clothes which means that she has a new job. Also it gains the respect of the audience as they don't believe that Rita could ever become educated, which is exactly what she has done. |
"cos after that I was askin' questions all week" | This earns Rita even more respect as not many people will have the courage to stand up in front of many people and ask a question. This shows Rita's gain in confidence. |
" I can have a mind of my own can't I?" | This earns Rita respect as she stands up to Frank for the first time and the audience are behind Rita as they believe that he is being selfish because he knows that she is educated and he doesn't like it. |
