For example expensive (expensive) becomes more expensive (more expensive).
They are used to compare characteristicsor qualities between objects or people.	An example of a comparative adjective: the green ruler is large that the blue ruler.
Just as two-syllable adjetives can form the comparative by writing -er, like one -syllable adjectives, or by placing more in front of the adjective, as occurs with three-syllable adjectives.	Short adjectives Most adjectives whit one syllable (short adjectives), we write the ending "-er" to form their comparative.
Examples of short adjectives that end in "-e", just add "-r"... that end in a vowel and a consonant, make a double consonant and add "-er"... that end in "-y", change the "y" to "i" and add the ending "-er"...	Small / Smaller wide / Wider thin / Thinner heavy / Heavier
