It is often very difficult to regain it. Causing pain also has the potential of injuring the client. Causing pain may shift a relaxing stretching experience to a tension-filled session. The last thing desired is to illicit the fight-or-flight response by creating a swift transition from the parasympathetic nervous system to the sympathetic nervous system. |
