Helpful bacteria Bacteria which help digest the food we eat, make foods such as cheese and yoghurt, develop new foods and treat sewage to make it safe.
High-risk foods Foods which bacteria are most likely to grow on.
Cross contamination Passing bacteria from one item to another indirectly (e.g. passing salmonella from raw meat to a piece of fruit on a knife used to cut both).

Salmonella Typical symptoms: Abdominal pain, diarrhoea, vomiting and fever.
