Spotlight Effect The belief that others are paying more attention to your appearance and your behavior than they really are
Social Psychology the scientific study of how people's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influenced by the actual, imagined, or implied presence of others.
Prejudice preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.
Stereotype a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.
Discrimination is action that denies social participation or human rights to categories of people based on prejudice.
Bystander Effect (Diffusion of Responsibility) occurs when the presence of others hinders an individual from intervening in an emergency situation
Fundamental Attribution Error This refers to the tendency to over estimate the internal and underestimate the external factors
Romantic Love vs Companionate Love Romantic love derives from a combination of the intimate and passionate Companionate love is an intimate, non-passionate type of love that is stronger than romantic love
Deindividuation a concept in social psychology that is generally thought of as the losing of self-awareness in groups, although this is a matter of contention
