1. Conciliation | Mediation between two parts or more in a legal case. Bringing two opposing sides together to reach a compromise in an attempt to avoid taking a case to trial. |
2. Custody | The parent who had chief rights over the children. |
3. Maintenance | Regular payments by one party of a marriage to another. The payments can be by a judge order or by agreement between the parties. |
4. Necessities / legal obligation | Those things that parents have to provide to their children and that one spouse has the responsibility to provide to the other. These usually include food, clothing, housing, and medical care. |

8. Joint custody | A custody agreement in which divorced or separated parents have equal rights in making important decisions concerning their children. |
9. Child support | A court/judge-determined payment that the parent not living with the child must pay to help provide for the child's needs. |
10. Guardian | A person appointed to take care of a child or children, or property of another. |
11. Non-custodial parent | The parent who does not live with or have custody of a child but does have a responsibility for financial support of that child. |
