Explain what a client-server network is In a client server network, the file server holds all the files which the individual client computers can access. As the server provides services to the other computers, they are called its clients If the server fails, then files cannot be accesssed
Name the three types of topology Ring Star Bus
What is LAN? Stands for Local Area Network The LAN is on a single site e.g. house, school, office etc
What is WAN? Stands for Wide Area Network The WAN covers a large area e.g. a country, continent or even the whole world
The internet is a . . . WAN
What's the difference between the internet and the world wide web? The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks. In contrast, the World Wide Web is one of the services transferred over these networks.
