Filtration To separate an undissolved solid from a mixture of it and a solution. E.g. sand from a mix of sand and water
Evaporation To obtain a dissolved solid from a mixture of the solvent and the solution. E.g. sodium chloride from sodium chloride and water
Crystallisation To obtain a dissolved solid when the solid has different solubility's in hot and cold solvent. E.g. Copper (ll) sulfate from itself and water
Simple distallation To obtain a liquid when in a solution. E.g. water from sodium chloride solution
Fractional distallation To obtain two or more liquids that are miscible together (mixed/in a solution together).E.g. water and ethanol from a solution of water and ethanol
