Diplomacy	More than one country: negotiation between countries, usually involves trained negotiators called diplomats or ambassadors. most countries have a diplomatic service to maintain international relations and negotiate on agreements (e.g. trade agreements) and alliances ( governments working together to solve problems) and peace treaties (prevent or resolve violent conflicts.)
mediation	involves groups at conflict meeting with a mediator (independent third party) they try find ways of reaching an agreement. involved different types of conflict from local to international.
