Granular disintegration Grains of rocks become loosened.
Slaking The process by which earth materials disintegrate and crumble when exposed to moisture.

Bedding plane Refers to a surface that separates layers of sedimentary rocks on the ground.
Mass movement The movement of debris en masse under the direct influence of gravity.
Alluvial fan Cone/fan shaped deposit crossed and built up by streams.
Slag heaps Piles of waste rock from mining.

Shear Is the response of a rock to deformation.
Shear zone A vital structural discontinuity in the Earth's crust and upper mantle.
Terracette Type of landform, a ridge on the hillside. (step like ridges)
Regolith Material e.g. particles, soil
solifluction/lobe Rounded, tongue-like feature.
Afforestation The planting of trees.
Pediment Gentle, concave lower slope.
Scarp steeper, upper slope.
