Parallel Lines | Lines that will continue in either direction and never cross |
Transversal | A line that crosses another line, in this case one that crosses a set of parallel lines |
Alternate Exterior Angles | Angles outside of the parallel lines that are on alternate sides of the transversal. These angles are congruent |
Alternate Interior Angles | Angles inside of the parallel lines that are on alternate sides of the transversal. These angles are congruent |
Consecutive Exterior Angles | Angles that are outside of the parallel lines and on the same side of the transversal. These angles add to 180 degrees |
Consecutive Interior Angles | Angles inside of the parallel lines that are on the same side of the transversal. These angles add to 180 degrees |
