Question Answer
6.15 Understand that a voltage is induced in a conductor or a coil when it moves through a magnetic field or when a magnetic field changes through it. The wire cuts the magnetic field lines, inducing a current.
6.15 Describe the factors which affect the size of an induced voltage. More turns on the coil of wire means a greater voltage. Moving the magnet in and out of the coil faster induces a greater voltage. A stronger magnet increase the voltage.
6.16 Describe the generation of electricity by the rotation of a magnet within a coil of wire and vice versa. The wire cuts the magnetic field lines, inducing an a.c. current.
