1. They believe that the commandments are the correct and set out the best way to live for Jewish people. Also, they believe that they will be rewarded for good and punished for wrong doings.
EPQ - Jews must try to follow all the mitzvot
1. Agree
  1. Observing the mitzvot is a way to show gratitude for God rescuing them from slavery in Egypt
  2. The mitzvot are the acts which show Jews the best way to live their lives
    1. It deepens their relationship with God
2. Disagree
  1. Not all Mitzvot are relevant to todays world e.g
    1. "leave the corners of your fields empty for the poor"
      1. Most people don't have fields because they live in cities
  2. Reform / Liberal Jews believe that the mitzvot are a gift from God rather than an absolute set of rules
    1. So do not all have to be followed
Why are the Mitzvoth important to Jews today?
1. Shows Jews how to live to deepen their relationship with God
2. Mitzvoth give religious significance
3. Talmud assists Jews with modern day issues
4. Study of the Law helps strengthen their understanding
