What and Where is Asia?
There are three oceans in Asia:
The Arctic Ocean (towards the north)
The Pacific Ocean (towards the east)
The Indian Ocean (towards the south)
Asia has 49 countries.
Three of Asia's countries share borders with other continents - Papua New Guinea with Oceania and Russia and Turkey with Europe.
Even though most of Russia is in Asia, there are more people living in the European side. The European side is more weather-friendly.
The island that Asia and Oceania share is called Papua New Guinea- the Oceanian part is truly Papua and the Asian half is part of Indonesia.
Asia is the world's largest continent in both land mass (44.6 million square km) and population (4.3 billion people).
60% of the world's population live in Asia!
