Cells to Organisms
  1. Animal tissue and organs
    1. Specialized cells are organized together with other cells. There are several levels of organization:
      1. Tissues:
        1. The epithelial tissue is made up of cells that form surfaces over other organs.
          1. The connective tissue supports and holds together other tissues in the body.
            1. Muscle tissue can contract and become shorter and fatter
              1. Nerve tissues send electrixcal tissues around the body
              2. Organ:
                1. Organs are tissues grouped together to make organs. There are many different types of organs such as:
                  1. Heart
                    1. Liver
                      1. Kidney
                        1. Skin
                  2. Organ systems
                    1. Organs in your body don't work alone. They are organized so they can work together to complete a task.. Examples are:
                      1. The skeletal system which is your skeleton and muscles
                        1. The excretory system that gets rid of wastes
                          1. The nervous system that sends messages around your body
                            1. The respiratory system that gets oxygen for you and releases carbon dioxide
                              1. The reproduction system that creates and transports specialized cells needed for reproduction
                            2. Plants tissue and organs
                              1. Plants have fewer organs and organ system than animals. They are mostly organized at the tissue level and not organs.
                                1. Vascular tissues are used to transport materials around the plant. They consist of 2 type of cells:
                                  1. Xylem are thin tubes with strong walls that transfer water from the roots
                                    1. Phloem carries glucose from the leaves to all the other parts of the plant.
                                    2. The main organs of plant are the roots, stem and leaves
                                      1. The root takes water into the plant from the soil
                                        1. The stem holds the leaves of the plant to the sun. It also carries water from the roots to the leaves and transports glucose to all the parts of the plant
                                          1. The leaves are the organs that carry out photosynthesis
