Overhead Lines
- where possible, lines should be diverted or made
dead before work - pre-planning is vital
- it may be possible to make line dead for short
periods - work can be planned for these times
- liaise with local electricity supplier or
owner of lines on precautions required
- training should be provided in precautions, especially
dangers of carrying long objects e.g. ladders near lines
- cranes/excavators, etc may need to be modified by fitting physical restraints
- adequate supervision should be provided
