1. Nazis wanted boys to be fit so they would be good soldiers
2. Girls also had to be fit to be good mothers
Hitler Youth
1. Organisation that boys joined
2. camping, wrestling, sports and taught Hitler's ideas
3. Idea was to produce generation of strong, resourceful and aggressive men who would be commited to Nazi ideas
League of German Maidens
1. Prepared girls for their role as housewives
2. Taught household jobs and went on weekend outings
3. Healthy women would produce next generation
Indoctrination
1. Process of teaching certain set of beliefs as facts
Education
1. Children were taught about greatness of Hitler. Jewish children were forced from German schools by 1938. Overall education wasn't meant to produce independant critical thinkers but exact opposite
Primary Schools
1. Taught stories of Nazi knights who saved maidens from bad Russian gnomes. In maths, young child had to count number of SS guards, older children might calculate amount of explosives needed to bomb Jewish town. From birth, children were told that Germans were master race.
Secondary School
1. Teachers had to be Nazi party members
2. Biology covered supremacy of German race
3. History, they were taught how Treaty of Versailles was unfair
1939 - NAZI YOUTH MOVEMENT MADE COMPULSORY
