"The knower's perspective is essential in the pursuit of knowledge." To what extent do you agree?

  1. Central Knowledge Question

    • To what extent can religious knowledge systems and ethics be considered inseparable notions?
      • Subsidiary Knowledge Questions
        • To what extent does personal knowledge influence shared knowledge on religion and ethics?
        • To what extent are transcendental concepts influenced by religion and ethics?
        • To what extent are religious beliefs influenced by cultural conceptions?
        • To what extent can ethics stand alone without the influence of religion?
  2. Thesis (my position regarding the title)

    • Societies who dictate and bound their whole lives to religion and its values end up solely basing their ethical decisions around faith too.
    • Political values and decisions which eventually end up building a society's/nation's or community's ethical views can't be separated from religious notions.
    • Education can't be separated from perspective, therefore it can;t be separated from religious notions.
  3. Reasons that I'm interested in the title

    • My favourite Areas of Knowledge are exploitable. from the point of view that stems from this thesis
      • Showcases the importance and influence of an individual's perspective when accepting other points of view.
        • Looks for a relation between different Areas of Knowledge and Ways of Knowing within a same discipline.
  4. Ethics

    • Ties in with politics, education, and religion.
    • Reason, Emotion, Intuition, Faith
  5. Religious Knowledge Systems

    • Religious values, ties in with politics and education.
    • Faith, Emotion, Language, Memory
  6. Possible counter-arguments

    • One can pursue and digest knowledge from a completely unattached and neutral point of view on the matter.
    • The knower's perspective isn;t expected to shape or try and change the acquired knowledge.
