RAM & ROM
V
RAM
>RAM = Random Access Memory
RAM is volatile
Volatile (in terms of a computer) means that memory can only be retained if a power supply is connected.
When the device is turned off, the RAM will lose it's data and can't be restored when the device is turned on again.
Static RAM (SRAM) is faster but more expensive than Dynamic RAM (DRAM).
ROM
>ROM = Read-Only Memory
ROM is non-volatile
Non-volatile means that memory can still be retained even after the power supply was previously off.
In contrast, the ROM will still keep the data when it is turned off.
