- Lyra is the main character of the Golden Compass, She is from Oxford England and lives at Jordan College.
Lyra is the daughter of Lord Asriel and Mrs.Coulter . Lyra is 11 years old, and her Daemon is named
Pantalaimon. At Jordan College, Lyra is rambunctious and always getting into trouble, but she is important
because she plays a huge role into the fate of mankind. Lyra is able to read the Alethiometer, and is known
to the witches as the girl who will bring about the end of destiny.
- Lyra is significant because She is destined to play a huge part in the fate of mankind, but she has to live her destiny without knowing that it is her destiny
