Real -to-life
1. Ensures that the assessment is relevant
  1. Assessment can be related to a real life scenario
    1. I created a store for students to have an authentic real life experience for counting money
Construction /Application
1. Students have to construct or apply their learning to complete a task
  1. Having an ELL student apply a skill or perfom a task can help track their progress more accurately
    1. Students were asked to construct an even and demonstrate how they knew it was even
Student Structured
1. Activities and assessments are structured by tracking student data and student weaknesses.
  1. Writing and reading are the main difficulties for my EL students .

      Annotations:
      - After listening to a read aloud I asked my write their predictions for the next part of the story. This assessment was student structured because after our first benchmark test our data revealed that my students struggled with predictions. I used this assessment to gain direct evidence from students.
Direct Evidence
1. Direct evidence allows an educator to see what a student has mastered and has not mastered.
