Evaluation 6 - What have
you learnt about
technologies from the
process of constructing this
product
Production
What did i use ?
In the production of our film opening we used the cameras on our smart-phones. When
planning we created storyboards to help us when it came to filming, they had diagrams
and a small bit of text to show what we wanted in each scene, we then discussed the ideas
as a group and also created a focus group to see what people thought of our ideas.
What worked well ?
The storyboards worked well for our group as they gave us a
guideline for each scene, they also made it easier for us to present
our ideas to each-other clearly.
what didn't work well ?
Although the smartphone footage was of good quality we most likely
would have produced footage of a higher quality if we used a digital
camera.
The locations in which we filmed didn't always have god lighting
therefore we had to edit it on 'Final cut pro' this then made the
editing process take a little longer.
Blogging
What did I use ?
i created my blog on 'Blogspot.com', i
liked this site as it had a simple
layout and was easy to get the hang
of.
What didn't work well?
It was sometimes difficult to link some sites up
with 'Blogspot.com', i found it most difficult to like
up 'Goconqr's' but once i got the idea of how to do
it, it then became easier.
What worked well ?
I liked the fact that once you had the embeded link for a
specific web2.0 tool you could easily add it to your blog.
I found it was easy to work with and i could find and edit any blog post at any given time,
which made it simpler for me that having to search the whole blog for one post.
Adding images, gifs etc was simple with 'Blogspot' and
added a lot of these throughout my blog so it helped me.
Research
What didn't work well ?
I like using web 2.0 tools such as Prezi, Goconqr and seemed to get
into a pattern of using them and only them, this means my blog
isn't as interactive as it could be.
What did I use ?
I used a few different
web 2.0 tools to
present my research.
what worked well ?
I found experimenting with different websites fun as I
hadn't used some of the web 2.0 tools before so it was
good to see the tools and features in which they had.
It added to my blog and made it more
interactive when looking through instead of
just reading essays.
Editing
What worked well ?
Using final cut pro on the macs was quick and easy to get the
hang of considering I'd never used it before.
Uploading the film opening to YouTube and then to
my blog seemed to be easier than i thought which
made it quick for me.
What did I use ?
To edit our auditions, prelim task and final film opening we used Final Cut
Pro which was a good, quick, and easy system with features that helped us
edit our opening to create and achieve the suspense we wanted.
What didn't work well ?
As it was my fist time editing Micheal had to show me the basics to start
with which took a little time, but it was okay because he had already
used it and showed me as quick as possible.
