Energy Transfer 1-3% of the suns light is captured by plant or algae. 90% of sun's energy is reflected by clouds/dust or absorbed by the atmosphere. Absorbs all wavelengths bar the green wave length which can't be used in photosynthesis. Light may not gall on a chlorophyll molecule.  A factor, such as low CO2, may limit there rate of photosynthesis.  Biomass = The mass of an organism minus water. gm^-2yr^-1. Calculated per year due to seasonal variations.  Net production = gross production - respiratory loss.  Energy transfer =
