Things an Engineering Student Should Keep in Mind

Times are gone when engineering was a big deal. Present situation tells a different story about it. The career once treated as respect is now laughed upon. Reservations have made extremely difficult for students to bag a place in a good government college. The issue of reservation is inevitable but there so many things which can be taken into consideration. First of all it should be made clear that proffering education is not a medium to earn money. If one wants to invest, there are many other things except building a college. It is not only spoiling the future of a person but the whole family who is dependent on them. There are three types of engineer present in the country firstly, the ones who chose engineering willingly. Secondly, the ones who were forced to do so and lastly, the ones who got no idea about their lives so ended up doing this! Well, never mind. Now the thing is that you are the future engineers of the country. Congratulations to those of you, who are studying in one of the top engineering colleges of India and my sympathies with those who are not! There are a few mistakes which engineering students do and spoil their careers. Below listed are few things just keep them in mind. Always try to learn new things Times are long gone when your bookish knowledge proved you to be a genius. In college intelligent is the one who knows how to deal with difficult situations. Don’t be a book-worm. Participate in on-going activities. Now many will complain that there college is too dull to have anything like that. Interact with your fellow classmates, seniors etc. if you have any good ideas, share it. You will surely be heard. Remember without hard work and true efforts nothing can be achieved. Keep a command on one of the languages of computerIf you are not an IITian or a NIITian then it is very much important that you know the basic language of computer even if you are not pursuing software engineering. For those who have opted computer science & engineering as their branch: master atleast two languages. May be the faculty of yours is not good but internet is there. Instead of wasting time do something fruitful. Make a target of spending just an hour on it everyday. After a year you, yourself will feel the difference.Stop blaming things around yourselfStudents usually blame college authorities, education system and what not for not getting a job! Start taking responsibility of you own deeds. Statistics say that only 25% of the engineers are eligible for the job. Are you falling in that category? If not, then start working hard from today itself. Blaming things around you won’t feed you or for that matter won’t even help you earn.Being student is not easy and it becomes even more difficult when you are studying engineering! Stay positive and focused no matter what. Enjoy life but don’t do anything excessively that in the end you pay a big price for it.
