The Great Schism

The Great Schism was the split of the Eastern and Western sides of Christianity. The Eastern side was Orthodox and the West was Roman Catholic. It started when the East and West to drift apart. The language of the West was Latin, and the East was Greek. The number of people who spoke both Latin and Greek began to fade away, and communication between East and West was a lot more difficult. When they could no longer communicate with each other, religion started to fade as well. Then there was an argument over icons, and whether they were to be accepted. there were many wars over this belief and they two eventually split off in their separate ways because of the constant disagreement.
