Geomorphological regions are areas based on their underlying rock

The North-European Plain is an example of a Geomorphic region

Glacial activity created this area

Ice sheets covered the continent, deposition of minerals occurred

Later, winds brought the material to Hungarian Plains, Romania and Bulgaria.

The Glacial material is called LoessIt forms a soil called Limon

Limon is very fertile and makes a good basis for agriculture

A good agriculture sector leads to a healthy population

Raw materials produced can be used in secondary manufacturing industry

The Industrial Revolution made these countries economic successes

The area is drained by rivers such as The Loire, The Elbe and The Rhine

These rivers are navigable and can be used for transport

The transport network is very successful because of the area's flat relief

eg. Roads, Railways, Rivers, Canals, Pipelines, Airports and Ports
