    80% of workers employed in this sector. Decentralisation - government tried to move offices and departments to other parts of country. Attempt to reduce costs, balance investment and reduce traffic congestion. Location of IFSC - one of the largest financial services centres in the world. ~set up by government in 1987. ~employs 10,700 people. ~high quality telecommunications networks and support services.

    Main point of entry. 90% of all scheduled flights to Ireland land at Dublin Airport and majority of ferry ports. Dublin attracts 27% of visitors to Ireland and tourism earns approx. 1 bil 5.54 mil tourists visited Dublin, rev. 1.5 bil. Tourism Thrives in Dublin because of: Government involvement -- leisure, cultural attractions, events. ~Croke Park (GAA home ground), Trinity College (home to the Book of Kells), St. Patrick's Day parade are examples of this involvement.

    Most efficient transport system in the country. Dublin port processes 50% of Irish trade. Dublin Airport; 20.9 mil passengers in 2009. Dublin Bus, the DART, the Luas. In 2009, Terminal 2 of Dublin Airport opened. Transport 21 System completed: Dublin port tunnel - removed 1000s of trucks from city centre each year. M50 upgraded in 2007. Transport 21 System ongoing: 8 Luas projects and 2 Metro lines. Underground DART line. Expanding the no. of QBC's, cycle paths and pedestrian facilities in area.
