1) Introduction: Presents antecedent action (Action that happens before story even begins) Holds setting, Mood & Characters Provides context for story and characters

2) Initial Incident: Starting point of conflict Can be used first to grab readers attention, then merged into the Introduction

3) Rising Action: All events that happen between after Initial incident & Climax -- Builds up to Climax Builds suspense as events cast doubt on protagonist's ability to resolve initial incident Tension builds between protagonist & Antagonist

4) Climax: This is where the 'Pleasure explodes" -- Most exciting and interesting point in story Conflict reaches peak & is either resolved or not. Protagonist reaches goal or doesn't reach goal. If you end story here - Called "Indeterminate Ending" -- Leaves rest up to the readers imagination

5) Falling Action: Action after highest point in story (Climax) Wine down, down from sub space Enjoying victory or dealing with the consequences of the failure

6) Denouement: Final outcome/ clarification of the story Wrap up loose ends or set up for sequel Happily ever after or the restart/ path change after the failure.
