Carbohydrate Structure - - Glucose is a simple sugar made up of Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen, its formula is C6H12O6-Sucrose is a complex double sugar and has two simple sugars joined together -Starch, Glycogen and Cellulose are complex carbohydrates that are insoluble and contain many Glucose stuck together.

Lipid Structure --Fats and Oils are made up of Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen.  They are made up from 1 molecule of Glycerol with 3 Fatty Acids attached.

Protein Structure --Proteins are made up of lots of Amino Acids joined up together there are 20 different Amino Acids that can join together in any order.-Enzymes are types of Protein

Enzymes Enzymes are proteins that can speed up chemical reactions in cells. These reactions include respiration, photosynthesis and making new proteins.  Enzymes are biological catalysts. Each enzyme will only speed up one reaction as the shape of the enzyme molecule needs to match the shape of the molecule it reacts with (the substrate molecule). The part of the enzyme molecule that matches the substrate is called the active site.
