NAZI SCHOOLS

BOYS

GIRLS

In boys schools, the Nazis were aiming to train the kids to be in the military and build a strong army for the future.  In a boys school where the boys are aged between 14 and 18, they will be forced to join the Hitler Youth. In these schools, the boys are asked to wear their Hitler Youth uniform to school and are trained to be political and army leaders.  In a boys school where they are aged under 14, the boys and girls go to the same school where they are taught the basics of Race Studies and Physical Education. The aim of a boys school was to teach them to be loyal to Hitler, to hate the Jews, the superiority of the Master Race (Aryans), to prepare them for the army and for physical fitness.   Boys could go to Leadership schools which was run by the SS to train future officers or they could go to Adolf Hitler schools which was to train political leaders.

In girls schools, the Nazis were preparing them for motherhood in the future.  In a girls school where the girls are aged under 14, they are taught the basics of Race Studies and are taught with the boys until they are split. in a girls school where the girls are over 14, they are taught basic household chores and are still working on physical fitness to help in child birth. The aim of a girls school was to teach them to be loyal to Hitler, to hate the Jews, the superiority of the Master Race (Aryans), to prepare them for motherhood and teach them cooking and childcare etc.

SUBJECTS

Physical Education - Male Schools give 15% of school time to Physical Education to ensure the boys are prepared for military service. They could expel anyone who fails the exam. Race Studies - The Nazis taught the children the beliefs of the fuhrer and how blonde haired, blue eyed people (Aryans) are racially superior and how Jews were hated. Eugenics - This taught the students the basic life skills, eg. not to marry a Jew and selective breed. They encouraged selective breeding to make sure every child had blond hair and blue eyes as the Nazis believed they were the strongest people. History - They taught a range of Germany's past glories and how successful Germany is and how all the failures that Germany had, for example losing World War 1, are purely down to the Jews and they were to blame for all of their knock downs.  Geography - In Geography, they teach about how much land Germany used to own and how the Jews were to blame for how much they lost. They also provided a solution and taught the kids it was down to their Aryan blood to get it back and make Germany successful again. Military Drilling - This is a subject where the teachers concentrated especially on military fitness and training them to be great army leaders. The schools also taught basic subjects like Science, Maths and German.
