Sugar Farming Swaziland Swaziland produces sugar cane in the eastern region. Sugar cane production is the biggest industry. It accounts for 59% agricultural input and 18% of Swaziland's GDP. They have three sugar mills- Mhulme, Simunye and Ubombo. Inputs Climate (lots of sunshine, temperature never falls below 15C Flat land 1800 of rainfall (Swaziland is dry so irrigation systems are used) Soils (Rich in nutrients) Capital (Machinery) Labour Processes Irrigation water is taken for canals 12 Months to grow Ripe sugar is burned and the flowers fall off. Cane is crushed in mills Outputs Raw sugar and Brown sugar Refined Sugar Molasses Fibre
