strengths of the Weimar republic... very democratic and fair equality, all women over 21 could also vote, people could choose who they wanted to rule them. Basic rights were protected.
weaknesses of the Weimar republic president could use article 48 to make undemocratic decisions, proportional representation led to many small parties so was hard to reach a majority. Coalition governments were inevitable.

kapp belived that... the new government represented too much change abd wanted Germany to return to the way it used to be... hated the treaty of versailles
hitler thought... hated the democracy and wanted only one strong male leader or Kaiser of fuhrer.
success of the kapp putsch caused the Weimar to flee from berlin however relocated to Dresden.
