Economic Freedom	The belief that markets should be free, and people should be at liberty to make money how they choose.
Embargo	An official ban on trade or other commercial activity with a particular country.
Free trade	Trade without tariffs, quotas, or other restrictions
Happy Planet Index	An indicators combines impacts on the natural environment (the ecological footprint) with the well-being of people (life expectancy), and considers the efficiency of resource use in improving peoples lives without damaging the environment
Holistic	Dealing with or treating the whole of something and not just a part of it.
Individualism	The belief that individuals should have the right to pursue their own actions and dreams.
Indigenous	The original population.
Infant mortality	The number of infant deaths that occur for every 1,000 live births
Malaria	A serious tropical disease spread by mosquitoes.
Maternal mortality	Number of maternal deaths per live births.
Neo-liberal	Responsibility is given to the individual in a free-market and deregulated economy
Post-colonial states	States which were once run and exploited by others.
Privatisation	The transfer of ownership, property or business from the government to the private sector.
Sovereignty	A country's independent authority and the right to govern itself.
Subverted	To undermine the power and authority in a particular country.
Super Output Area	The collection and publication of small area statistics. They are used on the Neighbourhood Statistics site and across National Statistics
Sustainable development	Development that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Technology	The belief that problems can be solved by using technology, especially high-end technology.
Totalitarian	A form of government in which the political authority exercises absolute and centralised control
Trade agreement	Treaty or an international agreement on conditions of trade in goods and services.
War crime	An act carried out during the conduct of a war that violates accepted international rules of war.
