Pregunta Respuesta
Eukaryote cells All have - Cell Membrane, Cytoplasm, DNA contained in the Nucleus Mitochondria Ribosomes
Prokaryotes All have Cytoplasm, Cell Membrane, Cell Wall, Ribosomes, A DNA Loop, Plasmids
Mitochondria Site of Respiration Oxygen + Glucose - Carbon Dioxide + Water Plant and Animal Cells
Vacuole Contains cells sap in plant cells Plant Cells
Chloroplasts Contains chlorophyll for photosynthesis to happen in plant cells. Carbon Dioxide + Water - Glucose + Oxygen Plant Cells
Nucleus Contains the DNA which makes up the genes and controls the cell. DNA is wound up into chromosomes. Animal and Plant Cells
Cell Wall Controls what goes in and out of the cell. Plant cells and Bacteria Cells.
Cytoplasm The jelly part where all the reactions happen. All Cells
Ribosomes Where proteins are made - protein synthesis. All Cells
Cell Membrane Gives strength and support to the cell. All Cells
A DNA loop and plasmids Only found in bacterial (prokaryotes) instead of a nucleus. Plasmids are little circles of DNA. Bacterial Cells.
Palisade Cell Function - Absorbs sun light so that photosynthesis can take place. Adaptation - Large surface area and lots of chloroplasts
Male Reproductive Cell (sperm cell) Function - To reach the female cell and join with it. Adaptation - Long tail for swimming and head for getting into the female cell
Ciliated Cell Function - Designed to stop lung damage. The hairs sweep mucus, dust and bacteria to the throat to be swallowed. Adaptation - Line the air passage down to the the lungs and have tiny hairs called cilia.
Muscel Cell Function - Can contract which makes the fibres shorter and causes bones to move or helps substances move around the body Adaptation - Long and flat, bands of proteins.
Root Hair Cell Function - To absorb water and minerals. Adaptation - Large surface area. The tube line protrusion provides a greater surface area across which water and minerals can be exchanged.
Red Blood Cell Function - To carry oxygen around the body. Adaptation - Large surface area for oxygen to pass through. Contains haemoglobin and has no nucleus.
Nerve Cell Function - To carry nerve impulses around the different parts of the body. Adaptation - Long, connections at each end and can carry electrical signals.
