Theme: Hell, Demons and Monsters Presents the jealousy-crazed characters as grotesque, deformed and demonic. "green eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on" Othello's vision of Desdemona cheating on him is "monstrous, monstrous!"
The song 'Willow" Desdemona in act 5 sings about a woman who was betrayed by her lover. It was taught to her by a maid who suffered the same misfortune. The songs lyrics suggest that both men and women are unfaithful to one another. Questions the nature and practice of infidelity.
