symptomatic trigeminal neuralgia is secondary to	Multiple sclerosis, tumors, aneurysms, chronic meningeal inflamation, amyloid infiltration, arterio-venous malformations, bony compression, small infarcts in Pons and Medulla (
trigeminal neuralgia triggers and trigger zone	trigger : talking, smiling, chewing, brushing teeth, shaving trigger zone = near the nose or mouth
clinical exam in CTN and STN	CTN= normal STN= sensory impairement in trigeminal area LOSS of Corneal reflex (HIGH sensitiviity and specificity) Weakness of fascial muscles
treatment trigeminal neuralgia	Ist line= Carbamazepine (more efficient) and Oxcarbazepine (better safety profile) 2nd line= lamotrigine, baclofen Surgery= open techniques and percutaneuos techniques
trigeminal neuralgia distribution	Right side = More Maxillary branch= the MOST Ophthalmix branch= the least
