Rhetorical devices —-
Analogy -explains one thing in terms of another -used to help the reader/audience understand the point.
Anaphora -repetition of word or phrase -creates rhythm.
Hyperbole -over exaggeration -allows the writer to add significance to a point to make it more persuasive and believable
Metaphor -comparison -can be used to familiarize the original thing and helps create the image in the reader or audiences mind
Onomatopoeia -a word imitating its sound. -creates an image as majority are familiar with the noises created by these words.
Oxymoron -a two-word paradox -used to dramatize the thing because of the extreme contrast.
